When you see a person’s name at a website, you get the impression of professionalism. KatieRoberts.com.au sounds like the website of a highly qualified Australian resume writer. Is that really the case?
Katie Roberts is a career counselor who launched this personal project in 2002. She is also an interview coach, outplacement consultant, and resume/LinkedIn profile writer. For all this activity, she’s only received six endorsements on LinkedIn. Where are all those professionals she helped to make progress in their careers?
Katie Roberts is not the only writer in this service. Several other professional resume writers are featured at the website. You can get more information about their training and experience there. When the customer orders a resume, the writer is randomly assigned.
This service isn’t particularly popular among Aussie job hunters. Why do they prefer other websites? We decided to investigate the case and we ordered a resume to see how Katie Roberts performed.
The prices at the website are relatively affordable. For example, an entry-level resume costs $295. LinkedIn profiles, on the other hand, are much more expensive. That service costs $495 for all levels. A resume of Professional level costs $495.
But we were wondering about something else: is the quality good enough for this price?
The lowest price doesn’t include face-to-face consultation. We were okay with that; we sent the instructions via email. But we received just a draft. This was not a well-formatted resume. It was incomplete. When we tried to get it revised, we were ignored. We sent one message after another, and then we got an answer that this was a consulting service and their work was complete.
KatieRoberts.com.au Customer Support
There is no customer support team to handle any issues at this website. They give you an Aussie phone number, which is supposed to work during office hours but never gets answered. An email is available, too. It doesn’t work.
We were disappointed to see that a service that charges average prices for resume writing would show such lack of responsibility towards its customers. Although the website doesn’t guarantee free revisions, we still hoped to get them, since we paid for a full resume and didn’t get it.
First of all, it’s important to know that there’s no ordering form at this site. You have to contact the team and make arrangements regarding the deadline. If you agree, you’ll pay them and the writer starts working on the resume.
Our writer took seven days to write a simple resume. Yes; she told us it would take that long. But we also expected revisions and we were ignored.
Overall, KatieRoberts.com.au is not the type of service we’d recommend for job hunters who need serious application documents.
There are no any discounts available.
